Project Description
During my semester, I embarked on an exciting bachelor thesis project that allowed me to integrate the skills I had developed over three years of education. I sought a hands-on project that would deepen my interest in data analytics and contribute meaningfully to a real-world application.
For my thesis, I collaborated with the Copenhagen-based startup VibroAcoustics on a data analytics project. The goal was to collect and analyze extensive biodata to compare their music therapy with a competitive offering in the market. My work provided actionable insights for product development and informed the company’s marketing strategy with relevant metrics.
Project Methodology
1. Ideation:
- Conducted brainstorming sessions with team members to align on business goals, identify problems, and explore potential project scopes. Ranked and selected the most promising project idea.
2. Requirement Specification:
- Defined project specifications based on available resources, including competencies, budget, and timeline.
3. Concept Design:
- Designed and developed the experimental setup, including mechanical design and integration of components. Created prototypes and assembled the necessary electronic elements.
4. Data Collection:
- Developed a user-friendly infographic to attract participants, including a sign-up link and scheduling options.
- Set up a data collection environment utilizing EEG sensors, breathing belts, and user forms.
5. Data Analysis:
- Analyzed the collected data using statistical methods, such as ANOVA, to compare biodata and derive insights.
6. Thesis Writing:
- Compiled and presented findings in a comprehensive bachelor thesis, detailing methodology, results, and recommendations.
Project Contributions
1. Project Management:
- Managed task breakdown, budget, and created a Gantt chart to track project progress.
